AFCAT 2017 Notification –
Apply Online for Commissioned Officer Posts
Indian
Air Force (IAF) has published a notification for the recruitment of
Commissioned Officer vacancies for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in
Flying & Permanent Commission (PC)/ Short Service Commission (SSC) in
Ground Duty (Technical) and Ground Duty (Non-technical) Branches through Air
Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) – 01/ 2017. Eligible candidates can apply
online from 03/12/2016 to 29/12/2016. Other parameters like age limit,
educational qualification, selection process & how to apply are given
below:

Education
Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess
Graduation in any discipline OR B.E/B.Tech with 60%b marks for Flying Branch;
Four year degree OR cleared Sections A & B Examination of Associate
Membership of Institute of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India
with 60% marks for Technical Branch; and Graduation with 60% marks / PG Degree
/ Diploma in relevant discipline / CA/ICWA with 50% marks for General Duty
Branches.
Age Limit: Candidates age should be
between 20-24 years (i.e Born between 02/01/1994 to 01/01/1998 both dates
inclusive) for S.No-1, 20-26 years (i.e Born between 02/01/1992 to 01/01/1998
both dates inclusive) for S.No-2 & 3 as on 01/01/2018. Upper age limit for
Candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot Licence issued by DGCA
(India) is relaxable up to 26 years i.e. Born between 02/01/1992 to 01/01/1998
(Both dates inclusive) for S.No-1.
Selection Methodology: Selection will be based on
the performance in AFCAT & Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT) (For candidates
applying for Technical Branch only) followed by Intelligence Test,
Psychological Test, Group Test, Medical Test & Interview conducted by Air Force
Selection Board (AFSB). Candidates applying for Flying Branch must appear for
Pilot Aptitude Battery Test (PABT).

online through the website www.careerairforce.nic.in from 03/12/2016 to 29/12/2016.
Instructions for Applying
Online:
(i) Log
on to the website www.careerairforce.nic.in
(ii) Click
on “Candidate Login”
(iii) Click
on “New Candidate” to start the Online Application process.
(iv) Fill
all the five parts of online applications carefully including part 5 where you
need to upload photograph, signature and thumb impression.
(v) Submit
the application and retain User Name and Password for future use.
